About Channel 7Oaks

Channel 7Oaks Television (7Oaks TV) is a cutting-edge, student-driven media program proudly produced by the Seven Oaks School Division in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Based out of Maples Collegiate, what began as a single-classroom project has evolved into a fully equipped media hub — featuring a professional studio, a broadcast control room, audio recording studio and cutting edge editing suite.

Since its launch, 7Oaks TV has been at the forefront of student media production, delivering bold, original content to audiences around the globe. With the debut of our official website in 2011, we expanded our reach far beyond the classroom — sharing hundreds of videos with thousands of viewers worldwide.

Our diverse programming — from live broadcasts and studio shows to creative short films — is produced by the talented students of the Maples Film and Broadcasting program and Channel 7Oaks, using the latest in digital production and broadcasting technology.

In 2013, we began the next chapter: redesigning our website to support high-definition streaming and mobile access, ensuring our content looks great on every screen. By fall 2016, a sleek, mobile-friendly version of the site was launched, with continuous improvements rolled out in 2017 and 2018.

The website has now reached its forth version. Rolling out in fall of 2025, the dynamic page allows Channel 7Oaks to grow and expand to support all the schools in the Seven Oaks School Division.
